The Hibuki therapy program, developed in Israel and launched last year at the ORT school in Odesa, uses a plush dog with droopy eyes, a sad face, and long huggable arms to help children cope with fear and loss.
The name Hibuki comes from the Hebrew word hibuk, meaning ‘hug’.
With the help of trained professionals, children are encouraged to express their emotions by projecting them onto their Hibuki doll – turning silent pain into healing play.
