Summer boating in Rhode Island comes with a short window, and the best plans start early.

Newport Folk Festival and Newport Jazz Festival charters are already on the radar for many boaters who want a private captain, a comfortable powerboat, and a front-row view from the water.

At the same time, July and August are the final months for scheduled recreational group training this season.

Upcoming opportunities include:
• Safe Powerboat Handling on August 1 and 2
• Women In-Command on August 8
• Dock-Pro docking instruction on August 8
• CPR and First Aid certification on August 9
• Private lessons and new owner training on your own boat
• Fall OUPV and Launch Operator licensing courses

The newsletter also covers summer charters for family celebrations, dockside boat assessments, professional crew training, and ways to prepare for more confident boating this season.

Which skill would make the biggest difference for you on the water this summer: docking, navigation, emergency readiness, or boat systems?

Join the newsletter for course announcements, boating tips, charter updates, and seasonal opportunities for Rhode Island boaters.
