Ironwood, I did not forget you! I was waiting for my friend, Zohreh, to return from her travels so I could have a rest stop during my canvassing. She graciously invited me in and restored my soul with some banana bread, water, and conversation after my first three hours on the street.

Finished the day with a trip up I-39 to El Paso to attend the Project XV Gala. This event recognized the donors who are helping to fund a museum to recognize David Strother, the first African-American in Illinois - and possibly the U.S. - to vote on April 4, 1865 following the ratification of the Fifteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Saturday morning hit the streets again, this time in the Wintergreen subdivision. Had to dig out the cuddleduds again for insulation against a fierce wind! Thank you to Mr. Felson for providing a respite during my trek through his neighborhood. This gave me strength to make it to my lunch break with my family.
