Severe weather is expected today late afternoon/evening. The Bloomington Normal area is now in the red "Moderate" forecast area.; a significant threat upgrade. Impacts could include tornadoes, large hail and very high winds, 75+mph possible. Storms will move very quickly with strong winds preceding and following the storm with a continued threat of downed trees and power lines. Structural damage and power outages are likely. Your goals today: finalize securing or storing any items outside. Update your emergency preparedness kit. Have a plan of where to go in the event of a tornado or severe thunderstorm warning (interior spaces away from windows) and have multiple avenues to receive warnings.
