From our humble beginnings as a reading room possessing a mere 300 volumes in 1935, the Normal Public Library has developed into a vital and bustling community resource center with nearly 200,000 materials. As our library has grown, we have vastly expanded our collection to incorporate not only traditional printed materials but a wide variety of digital resources including e-books, audiobooks, MP3s, and more! Our mission is to serve as a gateway to knowledge for the Town of Normal, providing attentive service, diverse programming, and support in the pursuit of lifelong learning to patrons of all ages.

Our bookdrop at College Hills Mall has moved, but rest assured it has not moved too far! Our drop that previously sat in front of Target has moved to the parking lot across from Chico's, next to the dinosaur statue. This change was made due to safety reasons, as its previous location was in the way of the bus lane.
