Heads up, ! 🎆 We hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th of July.

Here’s the plan for tomorrow at Fairview Park for 4th of July festivities and fireworks.

Please note the west side of the park is closed following the Park-to-Park run in the morning due to fireworks set up. Constitution Trail is closed at the northwest side of the park, so if you plan to walk to the park, plan on entering from the Main Street side. Anyone that crosses the barriers will be removed from the park by fire inspectors and/or NPD and may be cited/fined. We make sure that the closed areas are VERY obviously closed… don’t be that guy.

Wear sunscreen. Bring bug spray. And drink plenty of water - it will be HOT.

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July and leave the fireworks to the professionals!

Over the past few weeks, our officers have enjoyed meeting so many students and families during ! ❤️🐦

Starting college comes with a lot of questions, and we're always happy to help answer them. Whether you're wondering about campus safety, services we provide, self-defense classes, or anything in between, ask away!

Can't think of everything during Preview? Our website is packed with resources, programs, classes, and information to help you feel prepared before arriving on campus: https://police.illinoisstate.edu/

We look forward to meeting more future Redbirds throughout the summer and welcoming the newest class this fall!

The Flame of Hope has traveled across Illinois, carried by law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes from communities throughout the state. Today, it arrives in Normal for the 2026 Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games.

Our leg of the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics began this morning under beautiful skies, but the journey isn't over yet. Join us Friday evening for the final running of the torch, carrying the Flame of Hope from College Hills Mall to the Opening Ceremonies.

To all of the athletes: welcome to Normal and to Illinois State University. We wish you a memorable, successful, and safe weekend. We'll be here if you need us.
