Nothing like doing math while we wait for the plane. I love being able to travel and still learn.

Chemical reactions, making this fly and ooze....hands on fall science was in full swing last week! We did an oozing pumpkin and learned about an exothermic reaction and what a catalyst is. But the favorite by far was "flying ghosts"...who knew you could have so much fun with empty film canisters, corn starch, water and some alka-selter!!!

The kids are learning spanish as a foreign language this year! So far we've learned numbers, colors, shapes, days of the week, months of the year and family members and they each made their own family albums with pictures they chose and labeled of their family members in spanish.

U.S. History has been our focus so far this year. We've incorporated the Liberty Kids Series and the Rush Revere book series in our lessons. We just finished Rush Revere and the First Patriots! Over the course of 10 days (we do a chapter a day as a read aloud and end each chapter with group reading comprehension), we have learned about The Boston Tea Party, The Boston Massacre, The Stamp Act, Sugar Tax Tea Tax, the Townsend Acts, what patriots and loyalists, The Sons of Liberty and been introduced to important people like Benjamin Franklin, Patrick Henry, Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, John Adams, King George III (and Parliament) as well as others.
Can't recommend this series enough, the concept of time travel to learn about history, the humor and relatabilty makes these books so awesome. Us mamas are learning right along side the kids!
