Hampton Roads Naval ROTC

On May 7th, 2026, Hampton University proudly hosted a Joint Commissioning Ceremony honoring graduating seniors from the Hampton Roads NROTC Battalion as they officially took the oath to become officers in the United States Navy.

This momentous occasion recognized the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of Ensign Ashton Burton, Ensign Jose Chapa, and Ensign Sean Ingram throughout their time within the battalion. Their commitment to leadership, service, and excellence has prepared them to take the next step in serving our nation.

Hampton University was honored to celebrate these newly commissioned officers alongside their families, friends, and fellow shipmates as they begin their journeys in the fleet and beyond. Congratulations to these outstanding leaders on this incredible achievement!⚓️

Congratulations to Second Lieutenant Charles Lindsey on commissioning! Second Lieutenant Lindsey was commissioned on August 16th by Colonel Andre Ingram, surrounded by friends and family. Following his commissioning he will begin training at The Basic School. Semper Fi!
