Yesterday, we continued The Pursuit of Joy in Philippians 1:21–30, where Paul writes:

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Paul wrote those words from prison, facing an uncertain future. Yet his joy was not chained to his circumstances because his life was rooted in Christ.

That challenges each of us to ask honestly:

“For to me, to live is ________.”

If the answer is comfort, control, success, approval, or safety, suffering can threaten our joy. But if the answer is Christ, then even our losses can become Kingdom gain.

Because when Christ is our life, our circumstances do not get the final word.
