Furbaby Rescue

WE HAVE FOUND THEM A RIDE TO OMAHA TOMORROW!!!!

Are there any others that need a safe place to go?? 🦆😍 It is baby bird season, in particularly woodducks hatching. Today I picked up 12 from Norfolk, and not all at one address.

Typically baby woodducks are hatched high up in a tree. They leap to Earth where their Momma greets them and cares for them. Sadly these babies do not do well in towns. Every cat is a predator, every dog and even some humans. I can literally hold 5 of them in one hand. They are quite miraculous to me!

Tonight they are safe, warm and fed. If anyone is headed to OMAHA in the next few days, they could sure use a ride to Nebraska Wildlife Rehab. I will provide their care until then.

If you own a doodle and do not take proper care of its coat....you end up with a sheep. Literally. A coat that has to be taken down close to the flesh. I went slow and we took lots of breaks. He did so good. Hours on the grooming table with not much resistance. His feet were very sore under all that. We stopped after every section to reassure, praise and love him for his patience. Knowing full well causing an animal to be uncomfortable can get you bit pretty easily. He was a trooper for sure!!
