Same woman. Same day.
On the left, I feel powerful in softness.
Stillness. Femininity. Presence.
On the right, I’m sitting on a horse that quickly realized I wasn’t very good at telling him what to do.
What you don’t see is that he was not thrilled about my leadership, and I wasn’t exactly convincing.
It’s funny how different kinds of power reveal themselves.
One lives in softness. In knowing yourself. In being completely at ease in your own skin.
The other requires command. Clear direction. A kind of firmness that doesn’t come as naturally to me.
Today reminded me that being a woman often means holding both.
Grace and authority.
Softness and command.
Beauty and bravery.
Some days we embody one more easily than the other.
But both belong to us.
