A look back at our shoreline stabilization project for SEPTA’s Norristown Regional Rail Line in 2021, where our solution allowed for installation without the need for divers in the Schuylkill River near Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

The slope supporting the rail line was experiencing severe erosion from frequent flooding, threatening the track and critical infrastructure. Our HYDROTEX® articulating block system provided long-term protection, with installers zipping several panels together on the shore. Using a boom, they extended the mattresses into position while maintaining the free, unzipped edge on the shore. All filling took place from the shore.
