Hello Residents of Spring Valley here are some helpful tips to follow to help keep you warm as the temps start to drop!!
Winter-Ready Apartment Tips! ❄️🏠
As the temperatures drop, let's make sure our cozy apartments stay warm and trouble-free. Here are some handy tips for a winter-ready home:
1. Check Those Windows, make sure they are closing correctly, if you notice any drafts be sure to call the office or put in a work order so maintenance can come take a look.
2. Bundle Up Your Windows: Use heavy curtains or thermal blinds to add an extra layer of insulation. They not only keep the cold out but also make your space feel extra snug.
3. Mind the Thermostat: Optimal winter temps are around 68°F (20°C). Bundle up in cozy blankets before cranking up the heat—it's good for the environment and your wallet!
4. Reverse Ceiling Fans: Set your ceiling fans to rotate clockwise. This helps redistribute warm air trapped near the ceiling back into the room.
5. Prep Your Pipes: Avoid frozen pipes by letting your faucets drip slightly during extremely cold nights. Opening cabinet doors to let warm air circulate also helps.
6. Winter Bedding Bliss: Swap out lightweight bedding for warm, cozy options. It's the season for flannel sheets and extra blankets!
7. Emergency Kit Essentials: Have an emergency kit handy, including flashlights, extra blankets, and non-perishable food, just in case of power outages or winter storms.
