Do not use Rain X on the inside of your automotive glass.

FULL ANSWER:

A solution of soapy water is used to apply the window film, it keeps the film from sticking to the glass before it's in position. Once the film is in position, the slippery water is squeegeed out and the adhesive is activated.

When Rain-X or other hydrophobic products are mistakenly applied to the inside of the glass, our 'slip solution' of surfactant water won't stay on the glass, causing the window film to stick to the glass prematurely and causing installation difficulties.

You might ask why would someone apply Rain X to the inside of their window? Well, I don't know why people do a lot of things, but they do.
