Thank you to everyone who has supported the Book Launch this week! We have a lot of exciting news about the series over the next couple of months, but it is off to a great start!

The question/comment I have heard most over the past week is why did I decide to start writing these books. The answer is three-fold:

1) It is fun! Writing is a great creative outlet. Developing characters and a story arc makes me use my brain in a different way than I typically do. If you think you might be good at writing, I would encourage you to try it!

2) The world needs values-based entertainment! As I am sure you have noticed, most of kid’s entertainment is high stimulation, low intelligence, and extremely addictive. As parents we can choose not to participate, but we need great and new alternatives. I am trying to do my part with my books!

3) This is a family endeavor! I began writing these with my kids in mind as readers. But it has turned into an amazing project that I get to work WITH them on! I bounce ideas about the characters and storylines off them. I have them read me the books, so I can hear it from a kid’s POV. They help me think of marketing ideas and even packing the bundles we sell on the website. It is a family affair and one that I hope they look back fondly when they’re older.

Speaking of the family, we did a photo shoot together last night as promotional material. If nothing else, the pictures turned out funny and we laughed the whole time as we took them!

THIS IS A CHRISTMAS BOOK...no joke!

The Gladiator and the King is a story about two brothers lost in the Roman Empire. A census is being taken in Jerusalem and the boys get thrown in a Roman prison as they cannot be accounted for by the Romans. While there, they meet the most famous gladiator in the world. Aethiops The Gladiator was brought to Jerusalem by Herod to open his new theater as a sign of past Jewish warriors like David.

The brothers and Aethiops learn together that neither Herod or Caesar are the king of this story. After escaping the prison, the brothers meet shepherds in a field as they flee. And on that night, they are visited by an angel and heavenly hosts.

Through all of the adventure, trials and chaos, the brothers find the one true King of the World!
