About the special properties of each color…

Neodymium is produced by the inclusion of neodymium oxide, a rare-earth metal, in the glass melt. Light transmitted through neodymium glass shows unusually sharp frequencies. In daylight or incandescent light, neodymium glass appears lavender, but it appears pale blue under fluorescent lighting and greenish under trichromatic lighting. The color changes resemble the one of Alexandrite gemstones.

Opaline Pink glass is made with the inclusion of Erbium, another rare-earth metal which has rose colored salts and optical amplification properties. Opaline, is made using calcium phosphate during the mixing process to create its distinctive iridescent milkiness. Opaline looks transparent until it is cooled down and reheated, which causes crystallization that stops light from flowing, thus translating the glassblowing process and our touch quite literally onto the areas that become white. Its glow casts gold shadows.
