First State Ringers is an advanced handbell choir affiliated with Newark United Methodist Church in Newark Delaware. Our mission is to introduce audiences to the varied repertoire of handbell music since, unlike popular belief, handbells are not solely used for ringing holiday music. We are an auditioned group performing throughout the New Castle County and Cecil County areas.

Our 2025 holiday concert series is now complete and many hundreds of our patrons came and helped us celebrate the season!
Thank you to every friend and family out there who made time to come to a concert and join in our holiday fun. Our first concert at Kennett Library last night had over 100 in the audience! What a beautiful venue. I hope Newark Library's new performance space will be as nice when it is done. There are still many concerts to attend. Pick one (or more) to get into the holiday spirit. Kirkwood Library up next, Saturday at noon. And don't forget to get your tickets to the Newark Symphony Orchestra concert at Independence School on Sunday at 3:00, where Wilmington Handbell Ensemble and First State Ringers will ring with the orchestra! Get there early to get parking.
