The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS/ICE) are collaborating to enforce citizenship requirements in HUD-subsidized housing. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes data sharing to identify undocumented immigrants and ensure housing assistance goes to U.S. citizens so they started Operation Clean House is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) initiative, often in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service and local law enforcement, aimed at removing violent fugitives and ineligible tenants from HUD-funded housing. Recent operations have focused on arresting individuals with felony warrants and conducting nationwide audits to verify tenant citizenship and eligibility.
