🎓✨ Today, December 14, marks a proud milestone as I graduate from Western Illinois University with a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership, focusing on College Student Personnel.

This degree is more than just a personal achievement—it is a gateway to serving in various leadership capacities within tertiary education. It equips me to contribute meaningfully as a professional in areas such as Registrar’s offices, Student Services, as a student-helper lecturer, and even as a Dean of Students. These roles allow me to elevate the quality of service I provide to the institutions I serve while preparing me for even greater contributions in the future.

Balancing this program alongside my Educational Leadership PhD coursework has been a challenging yet rewarding experience. It has renewed my passion for learning and education, fueling my commitment to building strong institutions that impact students and communities positively.

I am deeply grateful to the leadership team at CFBC for your steadfast support throughout this journey. Your encouragement and belief in our shared vision mean so much. A special thanks to Dr. Tamu Petra Browne and Dr. Rowtham for paving the way for the impactful MOA with WIU that made this possible.

To my WIU family, I appreciate your guidance and encouragement. Special mention goes to Dr. Julie Brines, my advisor and professor, Dr. Tracy Davis, whose support has been invaluable, and Dr. Randy Glean, who first encouraged me to take this step. Go Leathernecks! 🐾

To my colleagues, your encouragement has been a cornerstone of my success, and I look forward to continuing to work with you as I press forward toward my PhD. To my wonderful family—Calvez, Juwon, Dwayne, Simone, Daddy, and everyone—you are my constant inspiration, and I am forever grateful for your love and support.

Finally, thank you to Jay Black Productions and Shyne Millions for making me feel celebrated today. Though I couldn’t attend the ceremony in person, your thoughtful preparations made the day extra special.

This degree is a foundation that allows me to serve in diverse leadership roles within tertiary education while pursuing my next goal in Educational Leadership. I am committed to leveraging these qualifications to deliver excellent service to the institutions and students I serve.

The journey continues, and I couldn’t be more excited for what lies ahead. Best Christmas gift ever! 🎄🎁
