RU-N It Back to the 2000s
The Norman Samuels Plaza was filled with high energy, music, and carnival food last Thursday night.
The student-lead triad that is the Media Committee ( , , and The Observer) organized the festivities in what was touted to be “a revival of student life on campus.” The night featured nostalgic music from the 2000s provided by three heavy hitting DJs: DJHarm, KilSoSouth, and JhasirPOW.
The event allowed both Rutgers and Non-Rutgers students to come together for a night of games, food, and socializing. Students were able to get a variety of food, drinks, and sweet treats, including funnel cakes, just by checking in with either their student ID or negative covid test (or proof of vaccination) and flashing tickets to the vendors.
A photobooth was provided right across from an caricature setup for all to enjoy. In the back, there was a sports game themed blow-up – modeled after football, baseball, and basketball – and even giant Jenga and an Avengers pinball machine. Overall, it was an intense and fun party vibe.

RUTGERS NEWARK!!! Program Board is back and ready to revive the on campus experience. This Thursday, September 22, , , and The O presents “RUN it Back,” a welcome back party that will kick off the first of many events we have planned for the student body (and others) for the 2022-23 school year.
The event will have games, food and drinks, as well as 3 amazing DJs to keep the energy high and make the night memorable!! Located in front of Paul Robeson Campus Center (alternate location in the Essex room) these three orgs hope to present a party that will set the tone for the rest of the school year and years to come.
Let’s revive campus life because face it, after the pandemic and the lack of events last year, we need a tone shift on campus. We hope to see you there!! SPREAD THE WORD🚀
