**EDIT: thank you to all the people who pointed us to the fact that this study is bogus. However, the conversation is not so I’m leaving the post with all the thoughtful comments because, despite the fact that we are living in the upside-down, erasure is not necessarily as powerful as re-contextualizing a post like this. Reminder to all: read the comments and check your sources. I’ve told the OP of this image that the study is not real. Always do that if you can, especially if it’s coming from the source page with a big following. Together, maybe we’ll make the internet real!!**

….

Yes, and.

Not just men against women. People against people. I am seeing this recently all over the place.

It’s scarcity mindset. And lately, I have had my brain blown by the scarcity mindset I see in my own little town, in my own friend circles.

Have you?

But (and) this isn’t gender-specific, though it tends to harm women more than men because of our compromised spot in the patriarchy.

Lately, I’ve observed an interesting degree of panic and freak-out from *women* who feel their own fragile universes threatened by anything that might threaten or damage the world they need to protect. It’s hard not to panic when the wolves are at the door, and I see a lot of women lately eating their own, canceling their friends and colleagues, locking their doors and getting guns. (Let’s not bring the firearm debate into this, but it’s not purely metaphorical).

The worse the conditions get out there, the more people in general are panicking, getting into scarcity mindset, and shuttering their windows on their neighbors.

I speak here with my little Weimar/1930s obsession German Studies degree. This always happens with fascism.

Look to history. Look to what all fascist regimes have done to gain control.

Turn the people against one another. It’s the strongest weapon, bigger than bombs.
