Memorial Day means more than a long weekend.

At its core, it’s a day to remember the men and women who gave their lives serving this country so we could live free. Fathers. Mothers. Sons. Daughters. Ordinary people who made an extraordinary sacrifice for people they would never meet.

This weekend, while we enjoy cookouts, time with family, and the blessing of being together, I hope we also pause and remember the weight of what Memorial Day truly represents.

There are two people who have died for you:
The American soldier who gave their life for your freedom here on earth…
And Jesus Christ, who gave His life for your eternity.

One gave us the freedom to live boldly.
The other gave us the freedom to live forgiven.

I’m grateful for both today.
