Know Science is an international science education and advocacy not-for-profit organization that is entirely volunteer run, powered by our love and passion for science! We feel that it has to become part of a scientist's job to share with the community the importance and excitement of scientific research. Science is not boring, it's exciting and even more, it sets the basis for our daily lives. So
, increasing knowledge of the underlying biology of our body and of diseases that afflict our world is necessary to enable us to make better, more informed choices regarding prevention and treatment. Our presentations are delivered by scientists who are actively conducting research in the specific area of life sciences they are presenting. Many public figures that showcase science in the media are not actively engaged in scientific research, sometimes they are not even scientist! This has produced a disconnect between scientists and the public. The information available to the lay audience though mass media and other channels are often confusing, contradicting or over-simplified. At kNOW-SCIENCE, we aim to share the latest scientific discoveries in an engaging and accessible way, yet to bring all the depth of the science of our lives with simple clarity and entertaining contents. Our 45 minutes presentation is very interactive and fully engages the audience. Plenty of time is allowed for questions and discussion, so to customize the topic and level of the presentation to each audience. You can chose to learn more about DNA mutations that cause cancer, about proteins and neurodegenerations, how our brain works and what happens during drug addiction, and many other interfaces between science and clinical pathologies.
