From the classroom to recess. 🎤
After exploring MCing, ad libs, and the roots of Hip Hop, 4th grade students at our grant recipient school in Queens, NY, continued creating music long after class ended—sharing verses and expressing themselves with confidence.

When music education inspires students to create beyond the classroom, the impact lasts a lifetime. 💜

Today we’re celebrating longtime champions of music education, Old Dominion. 🎶

Old Dominion’s support of Save The Music extends far beyond the stage. The band has visited schools, connected directly with students, and has helped raise more than $500,000 to expand access to music education nationwide.

And the impact isn’t over yet. Fans can still support music education and enter for a chance to win a VIP flyaway to Las Vegas, including tickets to see Old Dominion live this September, through our ongoing campaign with .

Huge thank you to Old Dominion and to every fan who continues to show up for students. Together, you’re helping power the next generation of music makers.

When teachers are supported, students thrive.

Over the past decade, there has been a 14% decline in music education graduates nationwide, while 25+ states now report shortages of qualified music and arts educators.

At the same time, experienced teachers are leaving the profession at an accelerated rate — especially in communities that already face barriers to educational access.

That’s why Save The Music invests in music teacher professional development programs. Help us unlock our next fundraising milestone and ensure more music educators have access to the training, mentorship, and resources they need to keep music alive for the next generation. Link in bio.

This spring, in partnership with the New Jersey Symphony and the Music Performance Trust Fund, Save The Music helped bring live chamber performances to students across six Northern New Jersey Title I school districts — including East Orange, Jersey City, Passaic, Paterson, Elizabeth, and Orange.

Together, we reached more than 3,300 students in grades 2–8, introducing young people to the woodwind family, inspiring future band students, and creating unforgettable moments through live music performed by professional union musicians.

We’re grateful to the Music Performance Trust Fund and New Jersey Symphony for this partnership and their commitment to expanding access to music education experiences for students across New Jersey. 🎻✨
