Graduate NYC (GNYC) is a policy and practice change initiative that works closely with the City University of New York, the NYC Department of Education, and the Office of the Mayor to dramatically increase rates of college readiness, college degree completion, and higher educational equity for students in New York City.

The nationwide college enrollment rate has been increasing steadily, but the retention rate for full-time, first-time freshman at 4-year public universities has not kept up:
