As NYC prepares for this weekend’s Pride March, we’re still thinking about Brooklyn Pride earlier this month!

Our Red Hook Community Justice Center team showed up to celebrate with the community, providing resources and joy for all our Brooklyn neighbors.

Celebrating freedom, joy, and community this Juneteenth with Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani, Deputy Mayor Renita Francois, and Council Member Chi Ossé☀️

RISE Project and Neighbors in Action hosted their annual Juneteenth event at Herbert Von King Park last week in collaboration with Council Member Chi Ossé, welcoming neighbors to take part in a Double Dutch competition, find their green thumbs at a plant potting station, and get T-shirts and bags screen printed with The Press Room.

We were joined by Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who recognized the importance of honoring Juneteenth and the Black leaders who paved the way to hope and progress across the country.

Mayor Mamdani had a chance to check out the Knicks celebration board and left a message in support of community safety alongside Deputy Mayor Renita Francois at our Juneteenth payphone. 📞
