The Movement Theatre Company Awarded $300K Grant From The Mellon Foundation The Movement Theatre Company has been awarded a $300,000 grant from the Mellon Foundation, an nvestment that will empower Producing Artistic Leaders to strengthen and expand their leadership.

The Harlem9 Producers are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Nilan, Associate Artistic Director of The Drama League. Nilan was a Harlem9 alum, a featured playwright in 2016.

We are honored to have one of his plays, “Shadow in the Corner” published in our 3rd 48 Hours in… Harlem anthology. 🙏🏾

His voice, generosity, and commitment to bold, inclusive storytelling left an indelible mark on our community and the field at large.

We hold Nilan’s loved ones and collaborators in our hearts, and we remain grateful for the work he shared with us and the legacy he leaves behind.
