David Lynch was an American filmmaker, painter and musician. He studied briefly at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, but by his own account the education that mattered happened elsewhere.
In this clip he talks about hating school and about the things that actually shaped him as an artist.
The experiences that happened outside the classroom, outside the curriculum, outside any framework designed to produce a particular result.
It is a reminder that creativity has never been something that can be taught, certified or contained.
