| What is Pride?
At its core, Pride is a movement for equality.
Pride's roots are deeply connected to advocacy and community action. The first Pride marches were organized to challenge discrimination and demand equal rights for LGBTQ+ people.
Activists fought for protections in employment, housing, healthcare, and public life. During the HIV/AIDS crisis, Pride became a platform for advocacy, awareness, fundraising, and community support.
For many, Pride remains a space to raise awareness, advocate for change, and ensure all voices are heard. Celebration and activism have always gone hand in hand.
