Uriel came to STRIVE Atlanta in 2024, ready for a new start after obtaining his GED. Through the Future Leaders program, he obtained multiple certifications and gained the financial, emotional and career-building skills that helped him land his first warehouse job.

Since then, Uriel has moved to North Dakota and graduated from Lynnes Welding Training. He is now working as a Tank Welder at O'Day Tank & Steel in Fargo, ND, where they produce oil and water tanks for the oil fields in the region.

Volunteerism opportunities like these are a powerful way corporate partners can directly serve STRIVE's mission. When experienced professionals take the time to sit across the table from our students as invested mentors, sharing their experience, expertise and constructive feedback, they offer something no curriculum alone can provide: the demonstrated belief in what our students can achieve with the right support and network.
