In his latest series, Suppen, Vallinas turns his eye away from the human subject and towards the world. Focusing on soup and the formalities of the dish, each image repeats a consistent context of a tablecloth, glass, bowl, and spoon. Using these familiar items, Vallinas then builds fantastical scenes within this zone of familiarity and explores the worlds that people build for themselves.

On site once again for another great commission install. This work by Carolyn Parton, was made using spent paint tubes collected by the artist from local painters in South Africa. For this piece, Parton bound each tube together with jewelry wire, creating a beautiful textured and dynamic mixed media tapestry that catches the light from the window perfectly.
