The Mendoza Standard - Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza officially arrived at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, confirming the physical tools that made him a household name during his historic 2025 campaign. The Heisman Trophy winner measured in at 6’4 3/4” and 236 lbs, solidifying his status as the prototypical frame for a franchise signal-caller.

Mendoza’s rise from a transfer at California to leading the Hoosiers to a 16-0 undefeated National Championship has defined the current college football era. His production speaks for itself: an FBS-leading 41 passing touchdowns and 3,535 yards with only six interceptions.

Currently projected as the potential No. 1 overall pick for the Las Vegas Raiders, Mendoza represents a rare blend of elite processing and physical durability. While he has opted to save his throwing drills for his upcoming Pro Day, his presence at Lucas Oil Stadium remains the primary focal point for NFL front offices.

Caleb Downs‘ belief never wavers. Circumstance doesn’t move it. He processes the game differently. Instinctively. Intelligently.

He knows what he brings:
• Talent
• Football IQ
• Impact
• Culture shift

And he’s already predicting growth — not just for himself, but for the players around him.

“The belief in myself never goes down.”

That’s not talk.
That’s wiring.

At the NFL Combine, Cameron Ball spoke with clarity about his love for the game — not just the grind, but the opportunity.

Competing in the SEC, including matchups against Georgia, prepared him for this stage. He views the Combine not simply as evaluation, but appreciation — for the journey, the growth, and the chance to line up again.

As he wore the chain with a photo of his father, the moment carried even more meaning.
