Even though students are back to in-person learning, many teachers are continuing to teach class digitally on iPads, chrome books and laptops. However, we have seen that not all students are successful with this type of learning.

Below are 5 tips for dealing with digital learning in the classroom.

1. Keep a notepad in front of you for scrap work when doing homework.

2. Work out math, chemistry, physics, etc. problems on paper instead of just typing them into your calculator for a more visual experience and to be able to backtrack if you get a wrong answer.

3. Use a notebook to supplement your notes during class. (Write down what the teacher is saying, work through problems, add helpful hints, etc.)

4. Request printed exams. Test taking strategies such as underlining, highlighting and circling, are not always available on digital exams.

5. Creating study guides in your own handwriting has been shown to help a student remember material better than reading print on a screen. Write your own outlines, summaries and comparison charts based on your notes.
