These were my 3 contributions to the beautiful and inspiring art that came out of !

Kristin spent only one afternoon/evening with us and I saw her sparkly, purple nails and immediately tried to dream up a design to try on her... my placement of the scarf piece was a bit off, but after some collaborating and brainstorming, I added some leafy vines to try to visually balance things a bit more. Thank you for your time and your beautiful manicure, Kristin 💖!

Lisa generously offered me one of her hands to work on. I really wanted to try to recreate this design I did back in 2017 after it was critiqued in 's artist's choice class.. I think I want to keep working on it. In the middle of creating this design my eyes started watering uncontrollably (maybe I put henna in them?) And it was hard to stay fully focused.. still, I kinda love this shot Lisa sent later with the stain over frothy rice water!

Finally, on the last day of sling, right before we headed out to the picnic, Taylor challenged me to create a hand piece for her in jagua that looked like it was coming out of her epic tatooed sleeve.. we used a reference photo and I don't recall the original artist now.. I tried to keep the gel in a thin layer so it would dry quickly... except that one leaf where i squeezed it out like henna paste 😂 super out of my depth with jagua, but I hope to work with it more before the next sling!

All in all, I'm happy with my efforts! I'm grateful for all the connections I made and I'm so looking forward to being back in MN with my henna sisters again soon!

Note to self: get some fun, colourful hand pillows!

Day 27: Symbols

🕉 will always be my favourite symbol to create with henna. I wanted to try some kolam designs, but I didn't have enough time today.. just the Aum took me nearly 5 minutes 😩🐌
