VFW Post 439 New Rochelle New York
This is the page of New Rochelle's local VFW Post 439...
The VFW traces its roots back to 1899 when veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine Insurrection (1899-1902) founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for their service: Many arrived home wounded or sick. There was no medical care or veterans' pension for them, and they were left to care for themselves
Please come out and join the United Veterans of NR as we pay honor and remembrance to our brothers and sisters lost on and because of Sept 11. We have placed 3001 flags on the lawn of City Hall (w/ur help!) and this Sat eve (9-11) at 7:30PM we will host a Candlelight Vigil and Inter Faith Prayer Service on the front steps of City Hall. All are welcome and encouraged to come to this moving and meaningful community event. Hope to see you there.
