Sign up to participate in research with your child! We study the development of attention, perception, and language. We use a variety of non-invasive methods including eye-tracking, fNIRS, EEG, and fMRI. Participation takes place in-person in downtown New Haven and usually lasts less than an hour. Fill out this one-minute form and we will reach out to invite you and your child to participate: https://yalepsych.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9z80XQvAEtQLebc.

fNIRS stands for Functional Near Infra-Red Spectroscopy. That's a fancy way of saying we use light to detect brain activity. Does this hurt? No! Take a flashlight and place your hand over the light. That's essentially what we are doing. See the methods section of our website to learn more! https://llamblab.haskins.yale.edu/what-is-neuro-imaging/

Laurel, one of the lab managers at the LLAMB Lab, has been working on setting up our eye tracker!
We use eye tracking to measure attention. It is a non-invasive procedure that shines a small, harmless light on a person's eye. A special camera detects that light. This allows us to track where someone is looking on a screen showing pictures or videos! When we have infants participate, we either ask parents to hold their babies or we let the babies sit in a high chair while the parents are next to them.

Last Friday, some members of the LLAMB Lab went to a training session at the Connecticut Science Center to prepare to run studies with children who are visiting the museum with their parents.
Thanks to everyone at the center for making this possible! We’re looking forward to working with you!
