Dangerous heat is expected in our area this week.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory beginning today at 11:00 a.m. and continuing through Friday, July 3, at 10:00 p.m. For many of us, this means adjusting our plans, staying inside, and drinking extra water. But for our unsheltered homeless neighbors, these temperatures can be life-threatening.
Extreme heat can quickly lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, and even fatal heat stroke for those who have no safe place to cool down.
The City Rescue Mission continues to be here for those in need. Our dayroom and community room at our Croton Avenue location will be open and available as air-conditioned spaces where those we serve can come in, cool off, and receive cold water. Our street outreach team will also be taking water directly to those on the streets.
WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP.
If you are able, please consider donating cases of bottled water to the Mission. Every bottle may seem small, but in this kind of heat, it can be a lifeline. We will make sure your donation gets into the hands of those who need it most.
Thank you for helping us love our neighbors well and remind them that they are not forgotten. Donations of bottled water can be dropped off at the City Rescue Mission, Croton Avenue location.

Yesterday was a day of celebration, hope, laughter, and faith here at City Rescue Mission as we had the incredible honor of recognizing three men for completing and graduating from our Men's Recovery Program.
These three brothers have walked through deep valleys, faced hard truths, and surrendered their lives to the One who heals and restores. Their perseverance is a testament to what God can do in a willing heart. 🙏
As they step into this new chapter, we ask you to join us in prayer, that they continue to grow in Christ, lean on His strength, and walk boldly in His grace every single day.
No one is too far from God's love. No life is beyond His reach.
Please drop a word of encouragement in the comments to congratulate these hard-working men on their incredible achievement!
To God be the glory! 🙏✨

THANK YOU to everyone who joined us this past Tuesday for our Dine-to-Donate at Parkstown Restaurant and Lounge. The food was great and so was the company!
We are so grateful for the continued generosity of the owners of Parkstown Restaurant and Lounge toward this ministry. You are a blessing to us and to the people we serve. 🙏
