🌿 A Powerful Afternoon of Purpose at the Urban Ecology Center – Washington Park 🌿
WCREW members recently gathered for an inspiring summer afternoon at the newly reimagined Urban Ecology Center in Washington Park—a space rich with history, community collaboration, and environmental impact.
Originally opened in 2007, the Washington Park branch underwent a major transformation completed in January 2025. Now, it stands as a vibrant hub for education, sustainability, and community revitalization—doubling its reach across Milwaukee schools and launching new early childhood programs.
Attendees experienced a behind-the-scenes look at the thoughtfully redesigned interior spaces, outdoor learning environments, native plantings, and restored trails—all contributing to a more resilient, equitable, and connected Milwaukee.
👏 Thank you to the Urban Ecology Center for welcoming WCREW and for the incredible work you continue to do for our city’s youth, families, and green spaces.
