Thanks Adam! I don’t think people know how difficult it can be to sew something. Bags take an especially different thought process. It’s such a rewarding process though.

Hello CONington friends!
I'm thrilled to welcome a new vendor to CONington 2026: Handmade Heart — a Louisville-based, female and LGBTQ+ owned business creating handmade, nerdy bags that are equal parts practical and ridiculously cool.
They make a whole spread of goodies, including:
Backpacks
Purses
Phone Straps
Water Bottle Carriers
Envelope Keychains
Their goal is gender-neutral, unique gear you won’t find anywhere else — the kind of stuff you spot across the room and immediately go, “Okay, I need that.”
Check out their work (and get a feel for what they can create) here:

Help me give them a warm CONington welcome!

Hi friends, I thought it was time to pop in and give an update. Many of you are personal friends and know what I’ve been going through, but for those who are not, I felt it was time to share.
In October of 2025 my estranged husband Bane passed away. We had decided in 2024 that we would divorce. We were still friends, still cared for each other, we just had to focus on different things and had fallen out of romantic love with each other. He had been struggling with health issues all 2025, meaning paperwork was never signed. So when he passed, I legally have been left with decisions to make and things to deal with.
This is why I’ve been absent from Handmade Heart. I’ve felt like I’ve been pulled in so many different directions. Had to deal with so many things I never imagined dealing with. Not to mention getting through the holidays, while still dealing with my grief over losing someone I loved. Something had to give, and that ended up meaning I had to step back for some time and prioritize.
I’m happy to share that I’m slowly getting back to things though. My first in-person show of the year is GeekOut Café & Gaming’s Geek Market on January 31st. I’ve been looking at more conventions this year and plan to attend quite a few. Focusing mainly on large events like conventions for the majority of this year. I’ll have a list of confirmed events this year up soon on the website.
I’m sorry I had to close for a bit, but I needed the time to grieve. I’m still dealing with things. Still grieving. Still trying to understand. I’m doing better though and ready to start getting back to what I love doing, sewing. I know Bane believed in my work, so I’ve got to keep going and can’t walk away from this business he supported me doing.
