Artist Spotlight
Meet this week’s Tennessee Craft artist and take a closer look at their work.
Nashville artist Kate Ferrell creates vibrant mixed-media paintings inspired by the organic rhythms, colors, and textures of the Great Smoky Mountains. Through abstracted florals and landscapes, her work invites viewers to slow down, reflect, and find a moment of mindfulness.
A former clinical social worker, Kate approaches art as a visual meditation - using color, pattern, and texture to create spaces for pause and connection. Her creative journey is grounded in both formal training from Davidson College and a deep commitment to community, collaboration, and giving back.
This spring marked Kate’s first appearance at the Tennessee Craft Fair as part of the Emerging Makers Tent, where she shared her distinctive vision with thousands of visitors.
