What a difference 10 years makes!
The first picture is from 10 years ago today when, lettuce be honest, we really didn't know what we were doing. We knew that we wanted to grow and distribute year-round nutrient dense herbs and leafy greens. We knew that the solution was growing indoors. We just didn't have all of the skills yet.

Hey everyone, Jeffrey here! It’s hard to believe that just over 10 years ago Greener Roots Farm was founded. What started for me as both a business challenge (could I make it work) and a desire to fill a local market need (year-round access to fresh food) has grown into so many amazing things.

A lifelong passion for growing food, cooking food, eating good food, teaching my kids the importance of where your food comes from – really ALL things food. Personal relationships with employees and their families who came to Greener Roots aligned with our mission of nourishing healthy communities. Personal and professional relationships with some of the most talented chefs in the entire world. An amazing community of other farmers that are always there for each other to grow the local food movement as one. This journey has forever changed me as a person and my family as consumers of real food!

In December of 2022 my family relocated to Atlanta. Greener Roots has been bringing produce to Atlanta for over 4 years now and both my wife and I have family here, so it was a logical next step for us. After running the business remotely (and many spontaneous trips back to help make things happen) for almost a year I realized that I was not the right person to sustain and grow this business long term. In November, I had the privilege of selling the business to someone who has the energy, capacity, locality and desire to take Greener Roots to the next level!

Keeping a food service/farming business alive for 10 years did not come without challenges. I am so grateful for everyone who has been a part of this journey with me and helped support the ups and downs. There are way too many people that I could thank, so I won’t try. If you’ve ever done anything to support Greener Roots – then you’re on that list.

Keep an eye out for our 10th anniversary celebrations that will be happening in August! All ordering and communication is business as usual, so no changes for you customers!

I am still involved daily with the business, so have no fear I’m still here! You can reach out to me on my personal IG if you need me, otherwise I see these messages too!
