Mildrad Rand
Daugtr of Mr
Joseph & Mrs. Sarah
Rand, Decd Nobbr
26 1718 Aged 1 Year
Mildred was the seventh of Joseph and Sarah (Brigden) Rand's fourteen children, and according to Wyman she was born January 18, 1717/18, and died November 26, 1718. Joseph and Sarah would name child eight Mildred as well, but she died July 26, 1720, just shy of 10 months old. Child ten was the next girl — and the third attempt at having a one named Mildred who survives. Alas, this Mildred born April 3, 1723, and baptized on the seventh, "died early". Sarah's grandmother's name was Mildred, so the naming seems to be in honor of her, and their last child was named in honor of her mother, Sarah Barrett.
