The IRS has recently clarified new rules regarding Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) from IRA accounts: The old law regarding RMD required taking RMD after age 70.5. The first round of the Secure Act changed that to require RMDs in 2023 if you are or become 72 in 2023. Most recent clarification again changes the age... this time to 73.
If you turned 72 last year or this year, you are entitled to take withdrawals this year, but there are no IRS Required Minimum Distributions for 2023.
