Bougainvilleas are drought-tolerant once established, making them a low-water option for homeowners looking for beauty without high maintenance. They prefer well-draining soil and actually bloom more when slightly stressed—meaning less frequent watering can often lead to more color.

In terms of size and growth, bougainvilleas are extremely versatile. They can be trained as climbing vines, shaped into hedges, or even maintained in containers.
