Hot take: your preschooler does not need a longer attention span they just need more engaging and fun learning opportunities 🤷🏼‍♀️ what are your thoughts?
Hear me out for a sec. What if your child isn’t the problem?
What if the reason they’re losing interest isn’t because they can’t focus...
What if it’s because you’re trying to teach a preschooler the way we’ve been told learning is supposed to look?
Because every day in my DMs I hear:
“My child won’t sit.”
“My child loses interest.”
“My child won’t pay attention.”
And underneath all of those questions is another one:
“Am I doing enough?”
As a mom, I know that feeling all too well.
You want to help your child learn.
You want to make sure they aren’t falling behind.
You want to do the right things.
But somewhere along the way, we’ve been convinced that learning has to look like worksheets, flashcards, tracing pages, and sitting still.
So when our kids don’t engage with these things that we were brought up to believe is learning, we assume something is wrong with them.
Maybe nothing is wrong with them.
Maybe they’re telling us something.
Maybe young children were never meant to learn that way in the first place.
Maybe they were meant to move.
To build.
To explore.
To create.
To ask questions.
To get messy.
To play.
And maybe that’s why so many parents feel stuck.
Not because they’re failing.
But because it’s hard to break away from the way we were always taught.
This is exactly why I was fed up with what most preschoolers are expected to do and then as a teacher watched them hate school at age 6. Ridiculous.
So I created The STEAM Made Simple Preschool Curriculum so that kids actually get a strong foundation with a crazy educational advantage.
