The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge is a distinctive cable-stayed bridge in Charleston, South Carolina, spanning the Cooper River to connect downtown Charleston with Mount Pleasant. Completed in 2005, it features eight vehicle lanes and a 12-foot-wide path for pedestrians and cyclists, making it a major transportation link and an iconic part of the city's skyline. It replaced two older bridges and is known for its impressive design, which includes towers that are flanked by rock islands to protect against ship collisions.
