Man Cave is the Muskegon Fatherhood network, created to provide a safe space for fathers to connect, learn, and grow to further their impact in the home and communities. He has over a decade of experience facilitating and supporting organizations in developing fatherhood programming. In 2022, Norman established a support network for fathers called "Man Cave." Man Cave supports Muskegon County fath
ers and father figures by providing an authentic space where they can connect, build relationships, learn, grow, and pour back into their homes and community. Man Cave utilizes the "A Father's Love" curriculum, a seven-week course designed to highlight each father's strengths in fatherhood (Dad Detector Test), while also addressing the pitfalls and potential dangers of misidentifying what it means to be a father or leaving trauma unaddressed. The A.F.L. curriculum also emphasizes the importance of championing fathers as protectors of children. Norman has hosted Man Cave cohorts throughout Muskegon County by collaborating with local school districts, non-profits, and utilizing centrally located community spaces to make Man Cave accessible for community members. When not fulfilling his calling of supporting fathers and families, Norman finds joy in spending time with his wife, Dr. Shayla Young, and their three daughters—Kennedi, Gia, and Zuri. They often transform their living room into a movie theater on Friday nights. Norman is always open to new experiences and enjoys learning about other cultures through food and travel. Feel free to message or email Norman Young with any programming questions you have.
