It is best that you find your breaker/plug and shut your pump off if you lose power. When power is restored sometimes voltage spikes happen and can damage the pump motor especially jet pumps, It doesn’t hurt to turn off your furnace also.. JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER!
With this single digit weather approaching us make sure you protect your pump in your crawl space or well pit. If your well pit cover has some holes in it cover it up with tarp and throw snow on it..Yes snow it an insulator and or a heat source ( incandescent bulb ) usually is enough. Crawl space make sure your door is completely sealed and plug your heat tape in if you have it. And lastly if it’s frozen before turn a faucet on ( pencil size stream). Hope this reminds some of you from costly repairs!! Thank you and stay warm!!
