Nature Will Nurture

Hey it’s been a long while!
I dropped off the social media planet after the pregnancy announcement. My hyperfixation turned to “there’s a baby growing inside me and I wanna know how that happens!”.
After his birth, I struggled with my undiagnosed ADHD until I finally sought out a diagnosis, and help. In that journey, I latched onto planning to find order in my chaos, reigniting an old love for stationary I’ve had for forever.
I still absolutely love plants and am excited to have time and capacity again to put into that passion, particularly with native plants as we’ve recently bought our first home, across the state of Michigan, to Muskegon. My houseplant collection is at a minimum, the vast majority lost during the first year of my son’s life, then our move across the state. There was grieving involved in such loss, but I’m better now. Excited for my continued growth in motherhood and as a new individual.
Ugh, I don’t miss hashtags, though

Sometimes life can get to be a little too busy.
Sometimes work takes more out and doesn’t leave much for time at home.
It’s been difficult to find a balance between taking care of thousands of plants at work, and coming home and taking care of (probably) a couple more hundreds of plants.
If you don’t know me, I work in interiorscaping. Office plants, hospital plants, atriums, residentials, hotels, you name it. Pest management, fertilizing, wiping leaves, I’m a Professional Plant Mom.
I worry about going into my plant room or brushing past my plants at home after a day of wiping palms with spider mites, or crawling around an atrium with mealy bugs. So my plants at home don’t get the same care and attention as they like or need.
So when I post or share in stories about pest outbreaks or under watering a thirsty plant, it’s coming from a place of vulnerability and openness.
My plants at home don’t get the same level of attention as the plants at work do, and it can make me sad sometimes. But I look at them and think that the ones sticking through a couple weeks of neglect, those are keepers 💚
