and actually would buy. But first, we had to figure out a more efficient and modern way to create the frame. We eventually landed on a shadow box frame. We opened our doors June 4, 2020, with only twenty-five items to sell. Despite starting a business in the middle of a pandemic and never having sold one item before, we sold half our inventory that first weekend. From there we never looked back and began expanding our product offerings and perfecting our craft. Jukia’s artistic nature is the foundation on which JR Décor is built. Looking to go back to work after having her first baby, the opportunity to start her own company using her own art was the perfect fit. Jukia has a Bachelor’s Degree from Ferris State University in Psychology. Her work background prior to starting JR Décor was in customer service. Jukia enjoys interior design, yoga, quality food, a glass of wine, and spending time at home (not necessarily in that order). Now with two kids Jukia miraculously (as only a woman can) balances family, home, and work life. A commitment to quality and integrity Jukia passionately works to create and deliver desired results for everyone who purchases a JR Décor piece. Robert provides the business balance to Jukia’s artistic approach. A career businessman with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University, the strengths that Robert and Jukia bring to JR Décor blend well. Robert’s background in business ranges from entry level to upper-level executive. For JR Décor he handles the finances, builds the frames, and completes final assembly. Robert enjoys a good soccer game (doesn’t matter who is playing), quality food, a nice walk or run, and family time.
